釣石神社は、宮城県石巻北上町にある神社です。境内には周囲14mもある巨石がぶら下がっており、先の宮城県沖地震、東日本大震災でもびくともしなかったのです。
この神社の向かいには、津波の被害で多くの犠牲者を出した大川小学校があり、この神社にも津波が来たのですが、それでも巨石は無事だったのです。
見た目は落ちそうなのですが、落ちそうで落ちないので、受験の「落ちないと」掛けて、受験の神様として崇められています。

Tsuriishi-jinja Shrine is located in Kitakami Town, Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. A huge stone with a circumference of 14 meters hangs in the precincts of the shrine, which was unaffected by the recent Miyagi-ken earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Across the street from the shrine is Okawa Elementary School, which was hit by a tsunami that claimed many victims, but the boulder survived.
Although it looks like it might fall down, it does not, so it is worshipped as the god of entrance examinations.
